The famous japanese company Scythe has announced a new series of affordable 140 mm fans, which got the name SlipStream 140XT. The new series of fans consists of five separate models, which differ in rotation speed and connection/control type: the SM1425XT12SL, SM1425XT12L, SM1425XT12M and SM1425XT12H are classic 3-pin powered fans that spin at 500 RPM, 800 RPM, 1200 RPM and 1500 RPM, respectively, while the SM1425XT12M-P is a PWM controlled variant of the same fan, which has a maximum rotation speed of 1300 RPM.

While having dimension of 140 x 140 x 25 mm, which are standard for fans of this form-factor, the SlipStream 140XT fans feature two separate sets of mounting holes, which enable users to install them into blowholes with either 120 mm or 140 mm spaced mounting holes. These new fans are based on sleeve bearings and nine blade impellers, having MTBF of 30,000 hours. SlipStream 140XT fans also feature cable length of 50 cm, making it easy to connect them to a power source even in large enclosures, without the need to use cable extenders.
