While Prolimatech is mostly known as a manufacturer of PC cooling systems for enthusiasts, it recently released a new product which is designed not to achieve maximum cooling performance, but to lower the overall noise level of a computer. The company’s new product is called Prolimatech Magnetic Pin and it’s an anti vibration fan mount kit. In essence, the mount elements in Prolimatech’s Magnetic Pin kit are basically regular anti vibration rubber/silicone screws that have magnets placed at their base. The presence of the magnets allows these anti vibration screws to attach themselves onto the enclosure without using traditional mounting screws. Among the advantages of such a mount system is that it provides: a quick release options for installing fans into the enclosure, the ability to install fans with non-standard dimensions and noise reduction because of vibration isolation.

The only disadvantage of such a mount system that we know of is its compatibility only with steel enclosures —it won’t work on plastic or aluminum. A single kit of Prolimatech’s Magnetic Pin consists of four mounting elements, which are just enough to install a single fan.
