Lian Li, the well-known manufacturer of all-aluminum computer cases, announced yesterday a new worldwide PC modding competition named PC-7H Modding Contest. The main point of this competition is to ignite the creativity and skills of the world’s best modding enthusiasts in search of the best Lian Li PC-7H case mod. In should be noted that using a Lian Li PC-7H enclosure for your case mod is mandatory to participate in the competition — the use of any other PC cases (even other Lian Li enclosure) in this competition is prohibited. The registration of participants is already opened and will stay that way for quite some time. After the registration, modders will have plenty of time to finish their modding projects and submit the appropriate worklogs to Lian Li’s sub-forum on XtremeSystems, since the final date, by which everything must be finished, is January 18, 2013. By that date, modding enthusiasts also need to send a minimum of five photos of the finished case mod to a competition mailbox (e-mail, of course ;)). Voting in this contest will be held on Facebook from January 25 to January 31, 2013, followed by a vote count and the announcement of the winner, which should happen on February 1, 2013.
As it should be, PC-7H Modding Contest packs some serious prizes. The winner of the competition will get one Lian Li case of his choice, an Aluminum Award Card, Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard, Asus Radeon HD 7970 graphics card and $1200 in cash. The modding enthusiast, who’ll take the second place will also get one Lian Li case of his choice, an Aluminum Award Card, Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard, Asus GeForce GTX 650 graphics card and $500 in cash. The modder that’ll take the third place will also get one Lian Li case of his choise, an Aluminum Award Card, Asus Sabertooth Z77 motherboard and $300 in cash. In order to spur viewers to vote ;), Lian Li also reserved a special prize — one Lian-Li PC-7H, which will be given to a random voter.
