The German Case Modding Mastership, also known as DCMM (that’s short for “Deutsche CaseMod Meisterschaft”), is arguably the main modding contest that is being held annually in Germany. You may remember this contest from our earlier coverage of it, especially the results form last year. The German Case Modding Mastership was held for the eleventh time this year, taking place from the 15 to 19 of August in Cologne.
One of the most notable features of this competition is that modding enthusiast can participate in the contest with several modding projects at the same time, while the contest itself is divided into several categories, such as:
- Case Modification
- Case Construction
- Consumer Electronics Modification (CE-Mod)
- Cases on the Move
- 24 Hours Live-Modding
The best modding projects in these categories were chosen by a panel of judges, that were selected from experienced modding enthusiasts and representatives of various modding websites. Aside from that, DCMM also featured a separate category called “Most Spectacular Creation”, which was in contrast judged by visitors of the contest. Now lets move on to the actual winners of the German Case Modding Mastership contest.
The places in the Case Modification category were distributed as follows:
The first place went to Ali Abbas (abbas-it) with his RENEGADE, The Public Enemy modding project. You can probably remember this modding project as one of the nominees in Bit-tech’s Mod of the Month contest for May of 2012.

The first place once again went to Ali Abbas (abbas-it) with his The Black Widow modding project. You can probably remember this modding project as one of the nominees in Bit-tech’s Mod of the Month contest for July of 2012. What’s interesting is that this project isn’t exactly competed, since abbas-it plans to continue to refine it — this however does not prevent the project from earning trophies ;).

The places in the Consumer Electronics Modification category were distributed as follows:

The second place went to Ali Abbas (abbas-it) with his Wicked Widow Set modding project. This project is basically a set of stylized computer peripherals for his The Black Widow modding project.

The Cases on the Move category was especially made for modding project with a significant number of moving parts. The places in this category were distributed as follows:

All of the enthusiasts who participated in the 24 Hours Live-Modding category this year were required to utilize the compact BitFenix Prodigy (white) enclosure, as well as a 1:10 scale radio-controlled car model. In the end, the places in this category were distributed as follows:

The third place went to Stefan Blass (thechoozen) with his Sentry Turret modding project. This is an another project that isn’t completely finished, since modding brothers thechoozen are still implementing their ideas in this project and they have a lot of them.
